Visiting Our Home

Visiting Fellingate Care Home

The Pod

In Winter 2020, Fellingate designed a purpose-built pod located on the ground floor. As a result, after facilitating outdoor visits throughout the Summer months to, this end, we recognised the need for a safe indoor visiting environment as an alternative to visiting in bedrooms.

Therefore the Pod is a warm and welcoming area which allows two visitors to see their loved ones through a Perspex screen and hear them via an intercom system. Consequentally, visitors can enter eternally and do not require a test. Complete with soft furnishings the Pod is designed for a comfortable, safe and pleasant visit.

The Pod has a robust infection prevention schedule and spaces are cleaned after each use, including handles, chairs and hard surfaces.

Visiting Rooms

At Fellingate, we have allocated three rooms to facilitate in-house visiting without a screen. The removal of the screen has been a significant and emotional step forward on journey back to normality.

Our rooms are a comfortable homely environment for our residents to have a well needed catch up with their families. Accordingly, Visitors must have a test upon arrival and the visit takes place 30 minutes later if a negative test is provided.

Full PPE is provided to all visitors.

Outdoor Visiting

Fellingate has areas within the grounds to enjoy an outdoor visit (weather permitting!).

We are regularly reviewing and updating our protocols when advised by Public Health Authorities.
